Les is nowadays remembered for his steel guitar work, both with Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys and other bands including with Spade Cooley and T. Texas Tyler. But Les was also an excellent singer, performing and recording under his own name and leading a superb band, and became something of a West Coast star in the early 1950s. Pleasant relaxed vocal style, a bit reminiscent of Dean Martin. We have compiled this first volume of his recordings – mix of straightforward country and western swing recorded between 1945 and 1952 plus some rare live recordings.
