5 June – remembering Conway Twitty (Harold Jenkins, Sep 1, 1933 – June 5, 1993), best known for his 1950s/early 60s string of rock and roll hits but always a country boy who returned to his country roots in the mid 60s. BACMs compilation features his early recordings on MGM, 1958-61, backed with top Nashville session musicians including Grady Martin on lead guitar and Floyd Cramer on piano. Mix of upbeat reinterpretations of country/pop standards and Twitty originals including his 1958 worldwide hit It’s Only Make believe.
