Dec 25th. Birthday of Buddy Jones (December 25, 1902 – October 20, 1956), American country musician who recorded in the 1930s and 1940s, style a mix of early honky tonk, country and country blues. Our first BACM compilation includes his 1935 Red River Blues duet with Jimmie Davies and recordings from 1937-41 including a great version of Jimmie Rodgers’ Dear Old Sunny South By The Sea demonstrating Jones’ yodelling skills. Our second, more fine honky tonk style recordings from 1935 to 1940.
