3 December – remembering distinctive and versatile country singer (and multi instrumentalist and songwriter!) Dick Reinhart (Feb 17, 1907 – 3 Dec 1948) whose output before his untimely death in 1948 ranged from early country blues, through Western Swing to cowboy-group harmony, as a member of the Rough Riders (trio with Jimmy Wakely and Johnny Bond see BACM CDs 102 and 384). Our CD 124 spans the whole of his career from his first two recordings in 1929 (just self- accompanied on guitar) through a wide variety of line ups through the years including his fine last session, for Columbia in 1947 with Jack Rivers on lead guitar and Tex Atchinson and Jesse Ashlock on fiddle.
