18th May – remembering “The Canadian Playboy” Jack Kingston (Oct 4th 1925 -May 18th 1996), talented country singer/guitarist/songwriter and regular on the Main Street Jamboree show (from 1952). He was the first Canadian country artiste signed by Capital (1950) and released around 100 recordings including what became his theme song The Yodelling Cowboy as well as several disaster songs including his composition the the 1958 Springhill Mine Explosion in Nova Scotia.
