17 May – remembering Wiley Walker ( Nov 17, 1911 – May 17, 1966) country singer/ fiddler and songwriter; formed a duo with guitarist Gene Sullivan in 1939, making some great recordings as Wiley and Walker. Nowadays they are best remembered as writers of the classic ‘When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again’ recorded by Elvis Presley, Eddy Arnold, Cindy Walker , Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard and Jim Reeves among others.
