16 April- remembering the great Australian country balladeer and yodeler Tim McNamara (Oct 10th 1922 – Apr 16th 1983). Performed from the 1930s to the 1980s, cut his first records in 1950 and went on to become a popular and influential country music radio presenter, helping boost the early careers of the likes of Slim Dusty and Reg Lindsay. Appeared on the WSM Grand Ole Opry in 1959 during a US tour.
