11 June – remembering Jim Ed Brown (James Edward Brown, April 1, 1934 – June 11, 2015), American smooth-baritone-voiced country singer-songwriter who with sisters Maxine and Bonnie scored several worldwide hits in the 1950s as The Browns. Biggest, The Three Bells, reached No. 1 on the Billboard pop charts. After The Browns split in 1967, Jim Ed continued to hit the charts, both with solo recordings and, from 1976, duetting with Helen Cornelius.
BACM’s CD275 gives you several of The Browns’ less familiar recordings whilst their big hits can be found on our Country Memories CDs.
