This collection gathers a number of gems from Roy Newman's 1934-39 stint with ARC-Columbia, closing with a handful of radio performances of the band from the early 1940s. Newman was a bandleader and pianist, who surrounded himself with some of the best musicians around to create some of the finest Western Swing music of the era. Many classic songs in this collection including a great version of "When you and I were young, Maggie" with vocalist Ish Irwin.
