A long overdue collection of recordings by the great Pete Pyle, one time member of Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Boys and lead vocalist with Pee Wee King’s band (Pyle replaced the legendary Eddy Arnold in the mid 1940s). Not just a fine guitarist, he had a strong and distinctive country voice and could do a fine yodel (Home Sweet Home On The Rockies!); but he was also a prolific songwriter and over the years his songs were recorded by the likes of Bill Monroe, George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Willie Nelson and Little Jimmie Dickens. On several tracks he is joined by fellow musician and songwriter Chuck Harding. This CD celebrates the legacy of one of country music’s great talents, nowadays undeservedly forgotten.
