23 Nov – Remembering Louisiana born country and rockabilly singer, guitarist and songwriter Al Terry (Allison Theriot, 14 Jan 1922 – 23 Nov 1985), whose early guitar style was influenced by Django Reinhart. Nowadays best remembered for his mid ‘50s rockabilly recordings he was also an accomplished ballad singer with a distinctive voice. His best known composition, Good Deal, Lucille, gave him a hit in 1954 and was later recorded by the legendary Jack Scott. BACM’s CD focuses on mainly on his country ballads, recordings from the early 1950s.
