Little Jimmy Dickens 063

December 19, 2017

19th December – birthday of Little Jimmy Dickens (James Cecil Dickens, Dec 19, 1920 -¬†Jan 2, 2015), diminutive country music singer, best known for his humorous novelty songs but could also serve up a great country ballad and recorded with the top session men of the day. BACM have so far released one CD, a selection from Dickens’ Columbia recordings, 1949-52 , mostly featuring ace musicians Bob Moore (bass) and ¬†Grady Martin, Jabbo Arrington and Floyd Robinson on guitars (Moore, Martin and Arrington were founder members with Dickens of the popular The Country Boys act). Feelgood country – you can’t help but smile along!
