Little Jimmy Dickens 063

December 19, 2017

19th December – birthday of Little Jimmy Dickens (James Cecil Dickens, Dec 19, 1920 - Jan 2, 2015), diminutive country music singer, best known for his humorous novelty songs but could also serve up a great country ballad and recorded with the top session men of the day. BACM have so far released one CD, a selection from Dickens’ Columbia recordings, 1949-52 , mostly featuring ace musicians Bob Moore (bass) and  Grady Martin, Jabbo Arrington and Floyd Robinson on guitars (Moore, Martin and Arrington were founder members with Dickens of the popular The Country Boys act). Feelgood country – you can’t help but smile along!
