17 November– remembering Judy Martin (Eva Alaine Overstake, July 23, 1917 – Nov 17, 1951), sweet voiced American country music singer, whose broadcasting career began in the early 1930s doing three part harmonies on the WLS National Barn Dance with with sisters Evelyn and Lucille (as The Overstake Sisters) . She married country crooner Red Foley in 1933. BACM have compiled three collections of Overstake Sisters recordings (BACM 98 and 99) and two of Judy Martin’s – BACM 96 and BACM 234, the latter featuring Judy’s duets with Red Foley.
