11 December – birthday anniversary of Dolly Good (Dec 11, 1915 – Nov 12, 1967) , one half (with sister Mildred) of old timey country music act The Girls of the Golden West. They were popular in the 1930s and ’40s, with their close harmony renditions of sentimental and cowboy songs, accompanying themselves on guitar and featuring their harmony yodelling. Recording on Bluebird and Bluebonnet they left a legacy of fine recordings. They returned to the studios in 1962 and the best of these late recordings can be heard on BACM 458, enjoyable easy-on-the-ear sentimental country!
